Portfolio - Apprentice Luthier

I was as a part-time apprentice to Anna Tummers from 2020 to 2021 in her Brighton workshop. Below is evidence of some of the skills I learned from her there, my own work at home, pictures from a BVMA course of bow rehairing in October 2021, and stray diagrams and tutorials from my notebooks.

Still have a lot to learn.

Repairing a cracked frog lip.

Relapping a bow with silk from without considering it would be easier to do this while sitting.

Making some odd bits and tools from goat leather

Cutting a spreader wedge for a cello bow.

A squared mortice.

Notes from my own fiddle on the measurements of soundpost set ups and bridge placements

One of the first repairs Anna Tummers taught me on, gluing the neck block to a disconnected rib.
